could be the connections on the back of the steering wheel airbag or the CIM unit itself.. It has a ribbon cable in it which the airbag connects too...

You can check the underseat plug to make sure its fully connected and that you dont have any corrosion on any of the pins..

My cim is giving me problems. Sometimes gives me imobilizer errors, with lights on the left steering wheel controls doenst work. And i get also errors from other modules like uec and rec saying 'no connection with cim'.

Do you think cim is causing this? Has the bolster airbag anything related with cim?

side of seat airbag no... no 'squib' is referring to the airbag on the steering wheel... It could well be the CIM ribbon cable but wouldnt be an electronic issue with the CIM causing the airbag as its hardwired and not using the CAN...

Your other issues do point to a CIM fault..

found the problem. is the airbag plug in the cim module. if i touch it with fingers the error gets 'present' or 'intermmitent' or 'not present' now only the stage 2 comes up.

the airbag has 2 cables, yellow and purple. purple is stage1 and yellow is stage2.

will order a new cim module and will go to a dealer to have it configured with tech2.
