Hello,

My name is Maxim, I'm from the Netherlands.

A friend of mine has a Opel Astra H (for you the MK5). It has a CDC40 Opera (Blaupunkt) in combination with a GID. Last week we bought a navigationsystem on the junkyard, containing the CD70 (Continental, containing Siemens VDO firmware, late 2007 model with AUX) and a CID (Siemens VDO, BN). The guy said we had to ask the dealer for the security code but after unpacking the package, the security code was written on the back of the CID.

We went immediatly to the nearest Opel specialist, owning a Tech2. We installed the CID and tried to marry it to the CDC40. Ofcourse this didn't work because it was still married to the CD70. The guy with the Tech2 decoded them with the security code on the back of the CID. Then he tried to marry them to the CDC40, but he didn't succeed. Also the local Opel dealer says he can't help him because, I think, they think it's dangerous to mess with those settings and they have no more experience with it than replacing just a new screen or something.

We paid over € 60,- for the Opel specialist's work, and in the end it still doesn't work. I've read a lot on this forum and I'm almost sure someone can help us further. I can figure out the donor car's VIN nr by calling to the junkyard, I have the security code of the donor car, I have the VIN nr of my friend's car and I have the security code of my friend's car. We both own an OP-COM, so we also can provide you with some information.

I hope someone can help us out.
