Was the cruise control programmed with OPCom? If so, then that may be the reason why the light doesn't show. I had this on my Zafira originally, as soon as I got Vauxcom, reprogrammed it and hey presto ... working.

      Vauxcom is opcom

My clocks don't have the actual simble or the led for it

Yes, but most people are using an out of date chinese clone version that doesn't fully support cars.

Ah, OK ... I know a lot of people have problems getting the CC symbol to light up, as did I until I got the up to date Vauxcom.

thought of adding the led to the clocks where it doesnt light up plus the resistor it will probably need. I've looked into this on a set of vectra clocks that didnt have the ids+ led, followed the traces back to the chip and the chip is outputting 11v when commanded by 'telltale' test on tech2.. Maybe the same for you would work?

Put the clocks in reset with the code, then program with your cars code. If it's a clone opcom I wouldn't like to comment on it ability to program the ipc, as I use tech 2 or the mdi but the genuine opcom/vauxcom should be able to.
If you use the vxr set the rev counter will also be wrong.
I have a spare set of diesel clocks with the needle sweep programmed.
