Cd30 and help!

Hi, finally got round to changing the leds on my 6 preset cd30.

All ands are on and working fine. I have gone with white buttons with red cd slot and red volume knob ring.

I have a couple of issues

On the cd slot there is foam which blocks the smd light, is this cut away as the light is visible on other conversions

The other problem is that the white of the buttons around the volume affect the red ring turning it whitish pink but I want it red like when it's just on when radio off. Should I un solder one of each white leds around the volume?

the foam on the slot is to aid in cleaning the disc from dust as you load it in and also to stop stuff/debris from entering into the cd player mechanism.. It will work if you cut it away but you'll be exposing the cd 'sledge' to containments.

With your idea of removing an LED or two you may run into an issue as some of these work in pairs, so if you remove one its 'pair' will stop working as well..

I've not had that bleeding between LEDs before, are they too bright?

Are you sure the CD slot ones are at full brightness as nothing else is done, just the LEDs changed.

The white ones are rated as 1000 and are a little brighter than the red ones. I was wondering if I could get something like blue tack around the volume knob to stop the bleeding.

Also I was told the plcc4 ones in the heater controls could be replaced with plcc2 ones, is this right?

Managed to find out where the white was leaking through and sorted it. Looks miles better now

Can anyone elaborate on the plcc4s?
