Vec C cd70 navi problem

Good evening all,

I've fitted a cd70 navi unit from a 56 plate 2.2 direct in to my 54 plate 2.2 direct, both the screen and unit came from the same car so no need to have them divorced or remarried, I bought the rgb cable of ebay because the original was damaged and bought a after market gps antenna although not a "fakka", I even got the original car pass for the car where the stereo had come from just in case it asked for the code, my car is full canbus so was the donor car, I plugged all the wires in and fitted the GPS antenna, tuned it on and every thing works radio CD player, board computer, just the sat nav doesn't, it does have the cd in with maps and you can hear it spinning the cd and it does eject but nothing comes on the screen, no menus or notifications I am at a loss next step take it out and give it a thorough good birching. Please help?

Do you have a satnav tab on the screen?

If not post a photo of the screen with the radio turned on

Yes on the top of the screen left to right I have a musical note symbol, then a directional arrow then a picture of a car?

I also took it to be looked at by a guy with a touch screen tablet thing? That he plugged into the ash tray, he said that there was no satellites being picked up he recommended that I move the antenna to see if it indeed did pick up anything, alas it still did not work?

The tabs appear to be there.

What do you get when you select the directional arrow?

A photo will help me to diagnose it better.

I see your problem now, never seen that before if I'm honest.

If anything it needs a full check over and reprogram with Tech2 as that may bring it back to life.

Can't think of anything you could personally do to recover it

You ideally need an independent who knows what they are doing, vx will charge a fortune.

Stampede http://www.diagnostics.org.uk/help/m...p/636-stampede is in the Halifax area and would be able to take a look and try the re-programming.
