Retro Fitting Sport

I want to fit a sport button to my Astra H.

It depends on what tou have in the car. Usually is the sportbutton, and if needed, a compatible speedometer (or odometer, dont know the exact name).

Then you just need to program that with opcom or tech2

I have the same engine as the 150 with the sport button!

Step by step:
1/ Check presence of these cables (connector can be found after you remove the Radio, heat control and the middle front. The connector is connected to the unit which controls the door lock/emergency flasher )
These cables are going to the instruments

2/ Check if instrument supports the Sport switch.
In EPC: An Km/H instrument which supports Sport is a benziner, is with manual gear has the marking of YN or CE .
With Tech2 in the "IPC" "Sport switch" menu: set "Present", this will set the gas/steering wheel reaction to sporty
Cars which have ESP set "Sport chassis" (or sport under-body) , this will allow the switch off of the ESP with continuous 4sec push.
To check if the main instrument supports this functionality check EPC, else perform a physical test

if you want to add ESP in case you dont have you need an abs pump with a specific ident, these are the idents for the pumps that support esp AJ, AL, HB, HJ ,HK, GB, GX. With pump ident BN is the latest pump and it also supports tyre pressure monitoring.

For tpms you need the correct abs pump and esp working, the control unit, 4 tyre pressure sensors, and either a GID or CID screen. Depending on the spec of your car you may need to add three wires.

I have two questions regarding retrofittting "Sport" switch in my Astra H 1.7 CDTI 2004 Cosmo.

I already got the switch on place.

I do not have ESP, so when activating with OP-Com I will choose option IPC>Sport Switch>Present.

I do not want to install ESP(for now).

So how to check for compatibility my IPC?
What wiring change is needed in order to get this button operational?

I can't help you any further. Your clocks are compatible because the button lights up, that tells me it is programmed and the wiring is present.

Some cars it just does not work and there are more components which possibly need changing, e.g. engine ECU or something else.

Just a note: "Sport" button has backlight when headlights are on, but it is not operational.

Hello Richard and thanks for your advice. About button lights up - it has only backlight. When pressing it orange LED in the bottom left corner does not light up. Even after enabling with OP-Com.

That's why I suspected that some wiring is missing.

Any advice will be helpfull.

Did you checked if you got wire from sport button to ipc?
Backlight doesn't mean all wiring is in place
