Hi folks,
A question for those of you that have, or have had an astra in the past with IDS+. Is it any good, does it make a noticable difference in sports mode? Im considering retro fitting it to my van and im after some opions on it.
Regards Mark

Wouldn't bother Mark. Only met 3 people who had it as standard, and I only met those because they wanted it totally disabled which says something about it.

Did they say what problems they had with it? Its now the only option for the astra from vx not fitted to the van
Not problems as such, they just didn't like the feeling it gave them and didn't think it lives upto the hype so to speak.

It isn't set up for UK roads. It's more for the European continent than anything.
I suppose the want to turn it of because one IDS shock is 225€.
They are only produced by Sachs
If you want the "regular" shocks fitted, in that case IDS must be deactivated, and it can be done when the IDS shocks are still on car and connected.
After deactivation you can mount regular shocks.
My front right shock is almost dead.
Its on 25%
New one is not an option.
I found few used in germany.
So, i believe I will buy used and mount it.
Doing away with my IDS+ on the vectra. Built the loom up out of nothing and fitted all the sensors etc etc.. Found the ride was 'off' even though the shockers were all good units.. Taken them back off and fitted SRi dampers/springs... Even the Vectra VXR lads ditch them in favour of B8's and DAP springs
