hmm interesting have you soldered them in place correct way negative positive sides
when you connect battery to controls u use pins where connector goes or to leds?
hi my name is Paul and I drive a zafira b. I live in wombounre and I'm also a member of wmvx and have attended some of their meets.
I have been in the process of doing an led conversion and so far done the dials and window switches.
I'm in the middle of the steering wheel controls but have a problem that they won't work. I've connected each new smd to a 3v battery and they do work. I have also connected the battery when the smds are soldered in place and they work but when I plug the board into the steering wheel I get nothing. Can it be fixed or do I need to replace them. I wanted red leds in them. Also I have been told it's one of the early switches with the pllc-2's on. Thanks

Hi, when I connect battery I touch the connections on the smds not the connector for the board. The leds have been put on in the same way as the old ones. I even tried turning them round but still not luck . I've had a good luck at the board and it's not damaged. Not sure if there is a piece of solder shorting it out somewhere
do you use flux when soldering?
buttons itself is working or not?
can you check led one more time as i had pllc2 led with negative all way round if this is your case than you will need them turning round
negative usually is where is cut corner
but it can be some bad solder point somewhere
They all have cut corner and only work one way around where positive goes to the cut corner side. Don't use flux and didn't add any more solder as I didn't need it
ok this can be your problem original leds has negative where cut corner is
i would suggest you swap them all round if remember correctly there was some printing on pcb where cut corners goes so ignore that
Aha, I've just tried my 3v on the old smd and the positive is on the opposite end to the new ones so will swap them all round and report back
hope you will get results what wanted
will get out mines tomorrow will check all traces and points where to check
than will post what can you check
