    Enabling DRL's - Which Option ?

    Hi Richard,

    With regard to the Vectra-C (2005 - 05 plate)
    Full CAN, Pre-facelift.
I am looking at enabling the Daytime Running Lights..

However I understand that there are 4 options...
    amazingly listed as
    Option 1
    Option 2
    Option 3 and
    Option 4

Now, I understand that the options represent, front parking lights, front dipped and parking lights, something to do with AFL's and something else..

Do you know which is which by any chance ?

    I am using Op-Com equipment.

    many thanks in advance,
    Rob

Sorry, I haven't ever looked at it to see which combination is which. Can't find a list in TIS either.

Tech2 only lists them as option 1 etc.

Best I can suggest is to try them 1 by 1 and see what works. If I find time I will do this on my car and update the site.

      Thanks Richard,

I have tried this on my wife's Vectra-C Energy 2005 Full CAN / Prefacelift.
I have no front fogs, and standard (not Zenon / AFL lighting)
      Options achieved the following results.
These are the settings with the light switch in the off position.

      Options ------------------Results
      Off ----------------------Obviously all off
      Option 1-----------------Parking lights only
Option 2 ----------------Parking Lights and dipped beams
      Option 3 ----------------Dipped Beams
      Option 4 ----------------Dipped Beams

Also as a matter of interest, one of the options where fitted, would illuminate the front fogs at a reduced brightness...
bit daft really, as using the fog-lights (at any brightness / intensity) is illegal except in suitable conditions of reduced visibility.
The reduced brightness front fogs will turn off when the headlights / sidelights are turned on.

As an update, these are the options that I managed to find about the Vectra set-up.

      Options -----------------Results
      Off ---------------------Obviously all off
      Option 1-----------------Parking lights only
Option 2 ----------------Parking Lights and dipped beams
Option 3 ----------------Front fogs at reduced brightness
      Option 4 ----------------AHL's / AFL's / Xenons

One point of interest, is ensure that the UEC is programmed properly, and that you don't chop and change between options in quick succession.

Multiple changes of options or configurations in quick succession can confuse the modules and in this case (dependent upon programming device), it is possible that you will be unable to turn off the head lamps.

The only cure is to disconnect the battery for half an hour or so,
and then when reconnecting the battery, all the modules go through a soft reset, whereby they have a chance to sort themselves out.
