I need to reset a used one so workshop can install with TECH2

I've got one on the bench, but mine is part of a complete car on the bench, I've had issues getting it to work on it's own, but not sure it it can be done on it's own or if it needs a canbus "wake up" signal from the UEC or CIM.
Just fit it in the car and reset ecu with tech2, it doesn't matter that the code doesn't match the car. So reset it with the known code and then program using the cars codeRichard Peck
