Sounds to me like the display is still married to its previous head unit.
If it was divorced / unpaired already, it would say 'Program display' if similar to the GID and BID.
Do you have the kit to read the eeprom inside?

no dont have but am gonig to buy one
what eeprom reader would do this job is there something i could use with out removing the chip
It depends which eeprom it is. The kit I use to read in circuit has cost me over £300.
You will be better off identifying the eeprom, and buying a cheap programmer that can read that type, will be removed from the board though.

Hi there, if you post the board or whole display to Pecky he can decode it and put it into the delivery mode so that you or your local dealer can marry it to the car with Tech2.
