Smile Swap old radio and display for CID and CD70.

    Hi.
I tried today to remove old TID and CD30.
What I did is just remove both of them without doing nothing with an opcom.
Put CID and CD70 and now it is DISPLAY SAFE on CID, and beeping in the speakers.

After that I treid to activate ANTITHEFT PROTECTION in EHU with opcom.
And then the beeping sound gone I believe.
But the DISPLAY SAFE is still on the CID.

Is that because I didnt not deactivate theft protection with TID?

I am pretty sure that it will end up with going to Pecky but it seems he is very busy, so I am trying something.

I have seen something similar happen before with opcom. I think it happens when part way through programming it hits an issue with the programming in the display and you end up with radio programmed and display not.

Last time I think I had to resort to eeprom editing.

      You mean eeprom in opcom?
      What software to use?
Maybe better to flash from 1.39 firmware (which I have now) to 1.44 ?
I get a lot of disconnections when idle for few minutes.

No, I not in opcom, it is a separate programmer. You also need to know what to change inside the eeprom.

Unless you have the opcom version which the firmware is for, it is pointless changing firmware as it won't make any difference.

May not be an opcom problem, and but suspect it may be. Will it let you reset the theft protection?

Yes, I can reset theft protection.
      What I did today:
1.connect back old staff (before set no radio in EHU with CD70 and CID).
2.connect opcom and set antitheft protection off, then see on TID DISPLAY SAFE for a moment and bleeping signal in speakers (ignition off)
3.removed old staff and put new one.
4.start ignition and opcom - on CID DISPLAY SAFE and bleeping signal in speakers.
5.went to EHU and set antitheft protection on - no bleeping signal now, but DISPLAY SAFE still
6.check the status of antitheft protection and its OK!

So maybe that CID was not logged out properly.
From the seller info I am not sure if he know what was done to it:
" car is now sold so reason for sale divorced by Vauxhall just needs pairing by someone with a tech 2 or vauxhall for a small fee

Works perfectly fine with an aftermarket stereo without needing to be paired as I have had this done by Vauxhall "
      Regards
      Mac

Check CAN bus configuration and fault codes on DIS and EHU. If for example UHP, ECC is set to present and you don't have it in your car, you fail to activate antitheft.
To be sure that the display has been divorced correctly, go inside measuring block in DIS menu under opcom, you should read "delivery state".

WOW, thanks for the information, I will check that tomorrow.
If CID is divorced what should be written there?
