    Alternatively, you could:
    • detach new GID
    • set EHU mid-speed canbus to only EHU (no display, DAB, etc.)
    • program EHU to 1802
    • reattach new GID

Personally, after pairing new equipment for my car I like to reset then recode them to the code shown on my security car pass.
Not always I used to have dumps all with the same code and tried this method but it still throws errors

"Security wait time -- running" means you haven't waited enough time between unlock/deactivate/reactivate/etc. attempts before you're allowed to have another go.
(i.e. the lockout timer is still running)

The wait times are something like this:
      After attempt 1 - wait 10 secs.
      After attempt 2 - wait 10 secs.
      After attempt 3 - wait 10 mins.
      After attempt 4 - wait 20 mins.
      After attempt 5 - wait 40 mins.
      After attempt 6 - wait 80 mins. (1 hr 20 mins)
      After attempt 7 - wait 160 mins. (2 hrs 40 mins)
      After attempt 8 - wait 320 mins. (5 hrs 20 mins)
      After attempt 9 - wait 640 mins. (10 hrs 40 mins)
After attempt 10 - dump unit in landfill

Also, as far as I know, you need to have the car, but not engine, turned on continuously for the timer to run. Turning the car off also restarts the timer.

If you have 6 attempts remaining then you've used 4 so you'd need to wait 20 minutes.

So it means, I have to wait 40 minutes with ignition on and no running engines before I try?
