1. If its a 1.9 CDTi engine then the 8V and 16V variants are generally the same engine but detuned so the fittings are the same too
2. There's no need to blank it in more than one place
You probably will mate, its always better to get your mods mapped in once they're done to avoid any further problems
it's usually down to an earth on the handbrake lever, if you can find that and relocate it then you should be able to bypass the shut down
They (tuning boxes) are known to interfere and cause EML issues if they stray too far from the recommended settings.
Turn the box down a setting and try it again

They generally don't change the mounting points as its too costly to alter the bodywork, it's usually just an update to the bolt on parts only so although I'm not 100% confident that they're cross...
