Thanks! Update on this I tried connecting my laptop headphone jack output to the microphone wires and I heard the music come out on the other end of the call so so I'm gonna try another microphone

Yeah, I have this but the microphone wire had been cut on both ends so I had no connectors, so I directly soldered the microphone to the wire skipping the connector, so it's like this...
