To add this to your vehicle sucessfully you need the following:

Vauxhall Part Number

Car Pass or Security Code

£20

Some vehicles have the clutch switch already fitted. These are:

All diesel cars

Petrol cars with the VVT engine

If your car doesn’t have the switch fitted then you will need the switch and the necessary wiring. You should find the necessary wiring taped up behind the clocks. If this is the case, you remove the clocks, un-tape the loom and drop the cable down to the clutch switch.

There have been reports that some cars don’t have all the necessary wiring all the way back to the UEC (Fuse box under the bonnet). This can be retrofitted if required.

Bought a radio or other item on ebay and found it is coded to the previous car. I may be able to decode it for re-use.

Decoding by post, Send your unit to me and i’ll return it decoded.

See the Shop for details.

Many of the items in the car are all security coded together. Your car pass holds details of the security code for your car.

The problem is that a lot of buyers and sellers don’t realise this. This can lead to people purchasing replacement / upgraded parts which are still coded to the original vehicle. Unfortunately this renders the items useless, unless the item is decoded.

I have written my own software ( Pecky’s Vauxhall Decoder ) to tell me the original security code after I have read the contents of the eeprom. Once I have the code, I just use Tech2 to reset the item. Other decoders edit the eeprom contents using generic files which may not be fully compatible.

I can currently deocde the following radios & displays:

CD30 – Blaupunkt

CD30 – Grundig

CD30 MP3 – Blaupunkt

CD30 MP3 – Grundig

CDC40 – Grundig

CDC40 – Blaupunkt

CD60 – Grundig

CD70 – Siemens VDO

3 Line (BID) display.

Graphical Info Display (GID)

Colour Info Display (CID)

Bluetooth Module UHP4

DAB Transceiver module

I can also decode these other modules:

Speedo dials / clocks.

Column Integrated Module (CIM) (Astra H)

Rear Electrical Centre (REC) (Astra H & Zafira B)

Add the startup needle sweep found on VXR's to other cars

I have managed to enable the VXR Needle Sweep on my Astra Diesel speedo as can be seen in the video.

Unfortunately this isn’t possible on all speedos as the earlier ones don’t support it. It would appear that any late 2007+ car can have it enabled.

This is not the same as the “Happy Light Show” module as the needle sweep on that is only the rev & speed dials and they are not in sync. This as you can see in the video is all 3 dials perfectly in sync, exactly the same as on the VXR.

The best I have been able to do to identify which speedometers can accept the programming is a check of the circuit board by the main connector.

If your circuit board looks like this, needle sweep is possible

It is possible to add DAB to your existing CDC40.

All you need are:

DAB module

DAB roof Aerial & base

RF wire from aerial to DAB modue

A few wires

And Tech2 into the car

Please note that 2nd hand modules are coded to the car and need to be divorced. I can decode them if required.
